LYTES (High School Youth)

L.Y.T.E.S. stands for “Lord’s Youth Touching Everyone Spiritually.” This group of high school youth get together on Sunday nights for devotion in God’s Word, prayer, Christian service, games, and fellowship. They meet at 6:30 pm in the LYTES room. The LYTES also enjoy leading worship services on the fifth Sunday of the month, leading the popular Good Friday service of darkness, going on trips such as the National Youth Gathering, and serving meals during Advent, Lent, and on Easter Sunday.

The LYTES and members of the congregation raise money for youth activities by participating in our annual fundraiser at the Mississippi Valley Fair. For over 30 years we have run a food stand, serving hungry fair-goers from 6:30 am to 11 pm each day. The “LYTES House” was reconstructed by generous volunteers in 2012. Please consider working a shift or baking cookies for this worthwhile cause!
