Prayer Chain
If you have a special prayer concern or thanksgiving that you would like other members of the church to pray about, you may share your request with the prayer chain. Call Jane Traub at (563) 285-6992 and she will pass the information on to a chain of PVLC prayer warriors. "Live in harmony with one another…Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written; "It is mine to avenge; I will repay", says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
1 CORINTHIANS 6: 1, 4-7
“If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?…Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church. I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? But instead, one brother goes to law against another-and this in front of unbelievers! The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?”
GALATIANS 6: 1-2
"Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
PHILIPPIANS 4: 2-3a
"I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to agree with each other in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you…help these women who have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel…"
COLOSSIANS 3: 12-15
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
