Pastor Pete Final Sunday at PVLC
Pastor Pete has accepted a call to serve as pastor at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Polk City, Iowa. His last Sunday at PVLC will be January 25. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as they make this transition.

WRO Collecting Love Box Donations for College Students
What a great way to encourage our college students by providing a care package filled with necessary college goodies. WRO has begun collecting items to send to approximately 24 of our loved ones away at college. Items needed include: individual packs Kleenex, gum, cookies, pencils, sticky notes, candy, toothpaste, pens. Cash donations are greatly appreciated. NO cough drops, NO large Kleenex boxes, NO liquids. HOMEMADE ITEMS will be ACCEPTED. You will find Love Box donation boxes in the fellowship hall near the kiosk. Deadline for donations is Sunday, February 1, 2026.
College Student Addresses for Love Boxes
As the spring 2026 semester begins, parents are encouraged to provide their college student's current mailing address to the church office to ensure they remain connected to their faith community while away. Sharing this information allows the congregation to send care packages, holiday greetings, and encouraging notes, which provide vital spiritual support during the academic year. Please contact the church office 563-285-9035 to make sure we have an updated address.
Helping a Neighbor
Cy Miller stopped by Tuesday morning to see if we knew of any congregational members that could help him replace or fix a mailbox. Seems that there was an incident between Cy and a neighbor’s mailbox. If anyone is “handy” and would be willing to help Cy, please give him a call. Contact the church office for his cell info.
LYTES Fairbooth Meeting
Hello Servants of the LORD! We’re kicking off Fair Booth planning for 2026, and YOU are invited to join us for our first planning meeting on Monday, January 19th at 6:30 PM as we begin preparing for another amazing year at the LYTES House. If you have a heart to serve, enjoy working behind the scenes, or simply want to be part of something meaningful and fun, we’d love to have you there—this is a wonderful opportunity to help plan an incredible fundraiser and outreach while serving together for God’s glory. Anyone LYTES age and older is welcome, and if you have any questions or need more information, please contact the church office or reach out to me directly. We hope to see you there! Confirmation Events Coming Up
A reminder of a couple of our confirmation events coming up. On January 16-17, we will be joining Grace Lutheran church for a LOCK-IN at Grace Camp! The event is from 7pm that night, to 7am the next morning, and will be lead by college students from Concordia University, Chicago. The cost is $5 per kid, and we will need to make sure we have 1 adult for every 7 kids. If your child (or you) are interested in this event, please reach out to Bethany Dorschner.
On January 24th at 3pm, we will be snow tubing at the brand new Lost Oasis! The cost for this event is $25. Make sure your kid is wearing appropriate snow apparel (i.e. snowpants, boots, coat, hats and gloves), and comes ready to have a blast! Again, any questions please contact Bethany Dorschner.
