Fairbooth Sign Up
The Mississippi Valley Fair is ten days away and shifts still need to be filled. Please use the sign-up sheet on the to get the best slots. Passes will be available for pick up beginning 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
**Cookie sign-up sheets are available on the kiosk if you’d like to help but are unable to staff the booth.

Saturday, July 27 at 9:00am we will clean up the fairbooth. The 2024 Mississippi Valley Fair runs from Tuesday, July 30 to Sunday, August 4. On Monday, August 5 at 9:00am there will be post fair clean up.
Heading to the Iowa State Fair? Your Help is Needed
Iowa District East and Iowa District West Lutheran Laymen’s League join each summer and have a booth at the Iowa State Fair. We hand out Bibles and booklets and share the love of Jesus with passersby. We have materials for all ages and enjoy handing out children’s booklets, crosses, or bracelets to the young ones. The State Fair runs for eleven days starting August 8. We need volunteers to staff the booth to distribute the materials and talk to folks who come by our booth. There are four shifts each day. The shifts are: 9 A.M. to Noon, Noon to 3 P.M., 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. The booth is in the air-conditioned Varied Industries Building. IDE will supply two free Iowa State Fair tickets for each shift. When you are not working, you are free to enjoy the fair.
Please help us by volunteering to work a shift on the even numbered days of the fair, August 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th. Iowa District West covers the odd days and the last day of the fair. (If you can’t support IDE’s even days, IDW may have a shift you can work on one of their days.)

Upcoming Blood Drive
The ImpactLife Blood Center will conduct our next Community/ Church Blood Drive from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024, at Park View Lutheran Church. They are in special need of type O blood. Everyone who is at least 16 years old, weighs at least 110 pounds and is in good health is encouraged to attend. Current donors are eligible if their last whole blood donation was no later than June 13, 2024. Teens who are 16 years old must have a signed parental consent form. Look for the sign-up sheet beginning July 14. Please call the church office, 285-9035 with questions or to sign up to donate.

School Supplies Donations Needed
We are collecting school supplies for kits to help children in grades K – 6. Donations may be put in the box (food pantry) located in the coatroom. Suggested items are: Large boxes of tissues/250 size; white glue/8 oz size-no colored, please; cardboard/plastic pencil boxes—approximately cigar box size; scissors-Fiskars brand, please; erasers—large size; 12-inch wooden rulers with metric markings and inches; boxes of 12 colored pencils/larger sizes not recommended; boxes of 12 thin markers. If you do not have time to shop for school supplies, you may donate money so that any supplies, which have not been donated, can be purchased. If you have any questions, please contact the church office (285-9035). Donations will be taken Monday, July 1 through Sunday, July 28.
Jesus’ Hands and Feet Needed
Our congregation is in need of ushers (especially for the 10:30 service); late service communion washers; 1 or 2 people willing to staff our nursery during the Sunday school hour (9:15am) and Altar Guild. Correctional Facility Cookie Ministry
Cookies baked/purchased for the month should be here at church the Tuesday before the delivery date. Cookies are dispersed on the 4th Thursday of each month.
