Pastor Pete Final Sunday at PVLC

Pastor Pete has accepted a call to serve as pastor at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Polk City, Iowa. His last Sunday at PVLC will be January 25. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as they make this transition.

Small Farewell Reception

There will be no Sunday school or Bible study on Sunday, January 25. Instead, we will have a small reception with baked goods/pastries to say farewell to Pastor Pete and Bethany as they leave us here at Park View Lutheran. For kids, there will be games and crafts in the Sunday School area. Questions??? Contact Jill Grunwald.

Nomination Forms

Do you know of a pastor that you believe would be a good fit as the next shepherd of Park View Lutheran Church? If so, there are nomination forms available in the front office. Prior to receiving candidates from Iowa District East, we can submit names that we believe would be fitting for our congregation. Upon completion of the Nomination Forms, they are to be turned into the head elder (Scott Campbell) or the chairman (Joshua Elmshaeuser), either in person, or to their respective boxes in the front office. Everyone’s prayerful consideration of candidates is appreciated.

Adult Ladies Invited to Post Christmas Party This Thursday

Ladies 18 and older are invited to a light dinner of soup and salad at Jill Grunwald’s home, 409 S Schultz Drive, Long Grove, from 6 to 8pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Please bring a dessert to share and your secret sister gifts.

WRO Collecting Love Box Donations for College Students

What a great way to encourage our college students by providing a care package filled with necessary college goodies. WRO has begun collecting items to send to approximately 24 of our loved ones away at college. Items needed include: individual packs Kleenex, gum, cookies, pencils, sticky notes, candy, toothpaste, pens. Cash donations are greatly appreciated. NO cough drops, NO large Kleenex boxes, NO liquids. HOMEMADE ITEMS will be ACCEPTED. You will find Love Box donation boxes in the fellowship hall near the kiosk. Deadline for donations is Sunday, February 1, 2026.

LYTES Fairbooth Meeting

Hello Servants of the LORD! We’re kicking off Fair Booth planning for 2026, and YOU are invited to join us for our first planning meeting on Monday, January 19th at 6:30 PM as we begin preparing for another amazing year at the LYTES House. If you have a heart to serve, enjoy working behind the scenes, or simply want to be part of something meaningful and fun, we’d love to have you there—this is a wonderful opportunity to help plan an incredible fundraiser and outreach while serving together for God’s glory. Anyone LYTES age and older is welcome, and if you have any questions or need more information, please contact the church office or reach out to me directly. We hope to see you there! Confirmation Events Coming Up

A reminder of a couple of our confirmation events coming up. On January 16-17, we will be joining Grace Lutheran church for a LOCK-IN at Grace Church! The event is from 7pm that night, to 7am the next morning, and will be lead by college students from Concordia University, Chicago. The cost is $5 per kid.

On January 24th at 3pm, we will be snow tubing at the brand new Lost Oasis! The cost for this event is $25. Make sure your kid is wearing appropriate snow apparel (i.e. snowpants, boots, coat, hats and gloves), and comes ready to have a blast! Please contact Bethany Dorschner as soon as possible!!
