A Change to our Outdoor Worship

On Thursday, July 2, 2026 we will have a potluck and worship service beginning at 5:30pm. However, due to the oppressive heat being forecast for that evening, Pastor Kincaid has made the decision to keep everyone safe by moving the event back to church. If your last name begins with at the A – M, please bring a dessert and if your last name begins with N – Z, please bring a side dish. Drinks, meats and tableware will be provided.

Church Office Closed

The church office will be closed for the July 4th holiday on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Late Service Communion Washers

The church office is actively seeking new late service communion washers to step forward.  PVLC has had some great losses in our volunteer circle this year. If you have a few minutes after the late service to wash up the communion ware alongside another volunteer, please contact the church office.

Nursery Volunteers for the Upcoming School Year

Wow!  The summer is halfway through, and we need to look ahead for volunteers to staff the nursery during the 9:15 a.m. Sunday School hour for the Sunday School staff.  Many hands and feet make fewer Sundays for you to staff. Please contact Bethany Dorschner or the church office if you’re interested in volunteering.

Thrivent Action Teams Cards

If you are a Thrivent member and have Action Team money due to you, please consider donating to the LYTES fairbooth this year. If you’d like to donate, please contact Jill Grunwald.

The Mississippi Valley Fair is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for our awesome LYTESHouse Fairbooth to shine again! This is one of our favorite ways to connect with the community, support our high school youth group, and share the Gospel message — and we need your help to make it happen.

Cry Room and Busy Bags Available

We just wanted to remind parents when our smallest congregation members become a little disagreeable that there is a “cry room” and busy bags in the back of the sanctuary.

Member emergencies

If members need to see a Pastor immediately (in case of emergency/death, etc.) we will be asking members to contact the church office. We will also publicize the phone numbers of elders Scott Campbell and Quintin Gerard (contact the church office for those phone numbers).  Once notification has been made, Pastor Kincaid will be contacted. If he is available, he will drive down. If not, an elder may make first contact, or Pastor Kincaid will reach out to Pastor Kent Umbarger, recently retired from St. John’s East Moline, who lives in Bettendorf.

Attendance Cards Reminder

As we continue through this time of a pastoral vacancy, all members and guests are asked to please fill out a yellow attendance card each Sunday morning or Wednesday during Lent. These cards help us accurately track attendance, stay connected as a worshiping community, and help to better support the life of the church. Thank you for your participation and continued faithfulness.

Recorded Worship Services

We will be recording our 8 AM Sunday services and 1 PM Wednesday Lenten services for those who are unable to attend service in person. While nothing replaces gathering together for worship, these recordings are offered as a resource for those who are homebound, traveling, or ill.
