North Scott Food Pantry
It's Park View Lutheran’s turn to staff the North Scott Food Pantry on Friday, December 5th. Please let the office know if you will be helping on Friday from 9:15am to 11:00am.
VBS Fundraising Tiles
The fundraising VBS Tiles that were originally out during the Preschool Auction is now being offered for a freewill donation. They will be in the fellowship hall during Wednesday and Sunday services this weekend. They will be removed next week.
PVLC Christmas Caroling
This year’s caroling will be Saturday, December 13 @ 5:30 p.m. Meet at the church at 5:15 p.m. Look for the sign up sheet on the kiosk in the fellowship hall.
Bell Choir Practice Time
Bell Choir will now meet at 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays during the Advent season.
Christmas Eve Choir Practices
Choir practice for the Christmas eve service will be on Thursday evenings from 7-8 pm.
Sunday School Christmas Program Rehearsal
Our next rehearsal for our Sunday School Christmas program is Saturday, December 6 at 9:00 a.m. Our Sunday School Christmas program will be held at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
Pastor Pete Receives Divine Call
You may have already heard that Pastor Pete has been sent a Divine Call from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Polk City, Iowa. Please pray for Pastor Pete, his family, Beautiful Savior and Park View Lutheran as he considers this call.
LYTES Service Project Donations Needed
The LYTES will be collecting canning jars for a service project for the North Scott Food Pantry. If you have either pint or quart canning jars that you are no longer using and would like to donate, please bring them to church and place them on the back counter in the kitchen during the month of December. Thank you!
Advent Services
Wednesday Advent Services will be held at 1:00pm and 7:00pm on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17.
Advent Dinners
Dinner will be served on Wednesday, December 3rd by the LYTES (bbq sandwiches, cheesy potatoes and chips) from 5:30pm to 6:30pm; on Wednesday, December 10th by the 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students and their parents from 5:30pm to 6:30pm; and on Wednesday, December 17th by the 5th and 8th grade students and their parents from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
Advent Series - EVERY HEART PREPARE
We decorate in preparation for Christmas. In November and December people spend hours putting up lights in their living space and ornaments on their evergreens. Poinsettias are placed on the mantel and presents under the tree, and we “deck the halls with boughs of holly.” These Christmas decorations bring enjoyment and anticipation to the holiday. Advent is the church’s season of preparation for Christmas, for the coming of the Lord. This Advent season, as part of our preparation, we reflect upon three common Christmas decorations and how they help us see Christ and prepare for His coming: evergreens, lights, and the creche. Then on Christmas we will focus on the decorated presents which point us to the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ.
Church Offices Closed
Park View Lutheran Church offices will be closed from Wednesday, December 24, 2025 through Friday, January 2, 2026. Should an emergency arise, please leave a message on church voicemail or contact Pastor Pete directly.
LWML (WRO) Mite Box Mission Program
Based on the Biblical account of the widow's mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of "mites" — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program. You will find mite boxes and the collection mite box by the card rack in the fellowship hall. Mites are collected on the first Sunday of every month.
