Volunteers Needed for Rally Day

Rally Day is Sunday and we need 8 volunteers to help with games and to read the Bible story during the 9:15am Rally Day Event. If you can help, please speak to Bethany Dorschner, Sharon Tannahill, the church office or use the sign-up sheet on the kiosk.

Sunday School Registration Forms

Sunday School registration forms have been placed in church mailboxes. Extra forms are on the table outside the sanctuary. Children ages 3 (by 9/15/25) through high school are encouraged to register and attend. Please fill out a new form for 2025-2026 and return to Kim Cronkleton or Melissa Drummond.

Volunteers Needed for Nursery

We are actively looking for volunteers who will staff our nursery during the Sunday School/Bible Study hour (9:15 – 10:15am) for our Sunday School staff or those wishing to attend the adult Bible Study Sunday mornings. Please contact the church office, Kim Cronkleton or Melissa Drummond.

Communion Washer Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to wash communion ware after both 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. You will be paired with an experienced washer and should take just a few minutes after service. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact the church office 563-285-9035.

Women’s Bible Study

Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study resumes on September 11, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday School/Bible Study

Sunday School and Bible Study classes begin on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 9:15 a.m.

Stewardship Corner

Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are required from tax-advantaged retirement account(s) when a person reaches a specific age (depending on birth year). RMDs are taxed at the ordinary income tax rate. If money from the RMD is not needed to supplement retirement income, then income taxation of the RMD can be avoided by directly donating all or part of the RMD to Park View Lutheran Church. If this strategy of giving to Park View Lutheran Church piques your interest, please contact your tax advisor.

ONLINE GENEROSITY

Online giving is a convenient way to support the ministry of PVLC. Our digital giving partner is Vanco. Vanco is a simple and secure service. Contributions can be made on a recurring or one-time basis from a checking or savings account. Donations may be designated toward the General Fund or to a specific ministry such as PVLC’s Building Fund, or Missions Fund. To learn how to download the app, see the instruction page on our kiosk in the fellowship hall.

Hospitalizations

If you are hospitalized, please contact Pastor Pete so that he can visit you or have a prayer over the phone with you. Hospital stays are much shorter than in years past. A procedure that would have required a two-to-three day stay in previous years may be considered as outpatient surgery today. It’s not uncommon for people to be in and out of the hospital before word gets to the pastor. Please inform the church office or Pastor directly in the event of an emergency or scheduled appointment so that you may receive the ministry of word and prayer. We care about you!
