Final Week to give Donations for College Students Love Boxes
What a great way to encourage our college students by providing a care package filled with necessary college goodies. WRO has begun collecting items to send to approximately 24 of our loved ones away at college. Items needed include: individual packs Kleenex, gum, cookies, pencils, sticky notes, candy, toothpaste, pens. Cash donations are greatly appreciated. NO cough drops, NO large Kleenex boxes, NO liquids. HOMEMADE ITEMS will be ACCEPTED. You will find Love Box donation boxes in the fellowship hall near the kiosk. Deadline for donations is Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Family Night – January 31 | 5:00–7:00 PM
You’re invited to our first Family Night on Saturday, January 31, from 5:00–7:00 PM! Our first family night will be "Game Night!" This evening is for everyone in our church family—not just households with kids.
We’ll enjoy a short devotion and prayer, followed by food and plenty of time for fellowship and fun. Please bring one or two appetizer-style items to share as we keep the meal simple and welcoming for all.
Come ready to connect, laugh, and spend time together as a church family—we hope to see you there!
Confirmation Snow Tubing
If you haven’t already signed up with DCE/O Bethany Dorschner to go snow tubing at Lost Oasis in Princeton, IA, this Saturday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m., time may have run out.
Congregational Food Drive for Eastside Mission
Park View is partnering with Eastside Mission to help meet urgent needs in our community! We will be collecting food and household items to support individuals and families served by the Mission.
Most needed items include:
- Canned goods
- Meat
- Vegetables (fruit is especially needed!)
- Boxed meals
- Paper products
- Laundry & dish soap (small sizes)
- Hygiene products
Eastside Mission has also recently acquired a freezer. If you prefer to give financial donations, those funds will be used to purchase meat, frozen dinners, and other freezer items. Please give financial donations to Joan in an envelope marked “Eastside Mission Donation” in the office. There’s a tote in the fellowship hall to place your donations. We will be collecting through the month of February. Thank you for helping us serve our neighbors with Christ’s love!
Staffing the North Scott Food Pantry

Celebration of Life
Karen Schaar, a member of our faith family, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 21. A celebration of her life will be at the Elk’s Lodge, 4400 W Central Park Avenue, Davenport, on Saturday, February 7, from 1:00 – 5:00pm.
Attendance Cards Reminder
As we continue through this time of a pastoral vacancy, all members and guests are asked to please fill out a yellow attendance card each Sunday morning or Wednesday during Lent. These cards help us accurately track attendance, stay connected as a worshiping community, and help to better support the life of the church. Thank you for your participation and continued faithfulness.
Nomination Forms
Do you know of a pastor that you believe would be a good fit as the next shepherd of Park View Lutheran Church? If so there are nomination forms available in the front office. Prior to receiving candidates from Iowa District East we can submit names that we believe would be fitting for our congregation. Upon completion of a Nomination Forms, they are to be turned into the head elder (Scott Campbell) or the chairman (Joshua Elmshaeuser), either in person, or to their respective boxes in the front office. Everyone’s prayerful consideration of candidates is appreciated.

Wednesday Lenten Services Begin Feb 18
Ash Wednesday services will be Wednesday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Communion and Ashes will be at both services. Our other Lenten services will be Wednesdays, Feb. 25, March 4, 11, 18, and 25 also at 1:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Concordia University Nebraska Choir Concert
CUNE Chamber Choir will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf, IA on February 20th, with the concert starting at 7:00pm.
